The Indie Press Prose Readings feature independent presses, their authors, and their books in a series of free events open to the public, from October to June in the upstairs gallery at Concord Art, 37 Lexington Rd., Concord, MA 01742.

This is where you will find news of upcoming in Indie Press Prose Readings, where you can RSVP to save a seat, and leave your email if you’d like to be added to our mailing list.

The readings began in 2025 to bring attention to the rising number of less publicized beautifully written and produced books of fiction and non-fiction being published by small and university presses. The series aims to offer a place for indie presses and their authors to share their fine work in a welcoming and accessible space provided by Concord Art, with books made available by the Concord bookshop.

The Indie Press Prose reading series is supported by the Concord Cultural Council and the Concord Center Cultural District with funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Thanks to Kate James, Natalie Fondriest, and Natalie Reiser at Concord Art, and Dawn Rennert at the Concord Bookshop for their partnership in this endeavor. Thanks to Cynthia Gunadi for website support. The founding curator of the series is Tracy Winn, the author of the forthcoming River in the House from Milkweed Editions, and of Mrs. Somebody Somebody from Random House. All are welcome.
